S-Anon and S-Ateen Public Information Posters
Where to Use These
Posters
These posters/flyers may be used to inform
the public about how and where to contact us. It is critical that when we
post these notices, we first obtain permission to do so. Some possible
posting locations are hospitals, police stations, schools and
universities, churches or missionary outreach offices, government service
offices, drug treatment centers, or other places where addicts, family
members or friends seeking recovery or people who help addicts may be
likely to see them.
S-Anon International Family Groups has a
long history of cooperation with professionals who work with those
affected by the sexual behavior of family members or friends. Doctors,
nurses, counselors, therapists, social workers, clergy, attorneys,
judicial, law enforcement, employee assistance plans and human resources
personnel are just a few of the professions that find their clients can
benefit from S-Anon/S-Ateen.
How to Use These Posters
We need to stress that it is a good policy
to remember our Traditions state "attraction rather than promotion" as an
important concept when doing public information work such as this. Good
judgment should be used when creating and posting these notices. We need
to refrain from provocative, promotional statements or artwork that may
convey a negative image of the S-Anon/S-Ateen program or may appear to be
promotional. Even how and where we post notices should be evaluated before
we follow through on the project. This is why a poster/flyer with a
simple message explaining that we are available and how to contact us is
the desired approach.
